Dreams, News

The Daily Local.com has written an article suggesting there are connections between our dreams and what we think when we’re awake.

Thoughts revealed in this article include:

Once you are able to categorize your dreams, said Irfan, you can begin working on them.

Dreams can be used as a tool.

And - Dreams are not always what they seem.

Dreams are not often what they seem.

People can write out their dreams when they wake to better understand their meaning.

I didn’t find anything new or earth shattering in this article, it’s written well and doesn’t say anything that I disagree with in regards to what dreams mean, and how you can use them to improve your life or recognise what is going on in your life.  Following is a quote from the article that I thought might be of value:

People who are having recurring nightmares and want them to stop can begin by taking the dream story and reworking it “so it’s funny or positive in some way,” said Druian, adding that could include imagining a character as friendly rather than frightening. “If that doesn’t help, sometimes you have to write it out completely right before going to sleep.”

You can find the Article here: Delving deep into your subconscious while you sleep.

Please, tell me what you think.

So. I’m dreaming this weird dream about being at a food counter like at an old drugstore. With these pet strange insects that never bother the customers. And they come and start biting by toes. I am wearing sandals. Well, I’m the only one bothered. When I realize that I’m dreaming. I think I should write this down. But I didn’t put a pencil and tablet by my bed. So I think I need to remember this. Well, When I woke I could remember that I was dreaming and needed to remember the dream. It took alittle bit of time to remember the dream. Hah. How very interesting. You were right about recalling during a dream. What well I dream tonight, I wonder.

One thing I use a lot when trying to remember my dreams is to use key phrases, it’s really like having a key to the box where I keep the memory. My dream log from last night says “Indiana Jones, Canyon, Yacht” when I wake up in the middle of the night before I do anything else I try to grab a single image or object or thing from my dream, I grab onto it, and I turn it into a key.
