line from one of my favorite movies suggests: Life is pain, anyone who says different is selling something. I’m not selling anything (that I know of) but I want to propose that life is what you want it to be, and I only know a few people who like pain, and they are special cases that I won’t talk about at this time.
It’s kind of funny just how much I feel like I’m opening myself up to you. Sharing my philosophies is one thing, but sharing my voice feels like something else.

Generally I want the podcast to be my favorite story from the past week. In this case I felt that in honor of my first podcast, it would be regarding the post that I had planned for today.
A lot of us face moments of pain in our life, for some of us it’s arthritis, it can be join pain, for some it’s terrible cramping (can I say that without removing the mystique from the website?) and for others it’s headaches or an extreme migraine, and sometimes it’s all the above and more. While pain is a constant in life, it’s my goal to give you a method that may help to reduce the effect that it has on you, or give you a moment to be pain free.

While you are listening to this you should feel a sense of peace, an adjustment as one part of your mind relaxes and makes way for another part of your mind to pay strict attention to the things that I say, there is no need for you to do anything other than just listen to my words, breath deep, and let your body relax. I am going to walk you through some moderate meditation steps to help your body relax, to take your subconscious mind and let it discard all pain, while your mind is free to wander from subject to subject, from thought to thought, and find a place of rest and relaxation.
When we are done with this you will feel at peace, rested, comfortable, and able to move forward with your day or night with less pain. As you enter a state of meditation you may find your eyes getting heavy, this is natural, feel free to close them. If anything happens near you that should awaken you, you will wake up comfortable and rested.
I need you to continue to breath deeply, feel the air as it flows in and out of your lungs, it should be an anchor for us, knowing that the air going out is taking away pain, discomfort, and angst, and the air coming is in clean, able to rejuvenate you. With every exhale your shoulders lower some, your muscles release, and you feel more relaxed.
Now imagine with me as I take you to one of my favorite places to relax., as you breath the atmosphere is going to change to the crisp sensation of mountain air, you may smell flowers, or water runoff from the mountain spring, these sensations should be natural and cause no thought, just something to take note of as you continue the journey. Continue to breath deep, as you do so muscles will continue to relax, pain will become a distant memory as your mind drifts from one subject to another, inhaling the good air, letting the pain flow out as you exhale. There is peace with every thought; exterior noises diminish as your mind seeks the sounds of this place I will take you to, the sound of running water, quiet birds, a gentle warm breeze through trees and over grass.
Let your eyes relax, there is nothing so important to see that you cannot let them rest take a slow and steady breath, as your chest drops from this breath you hear the distant song bird, every sound, every thought, everything at this point draws you further towards this relaxation, feeling air blow over your arms and legs, you find yourself laying on your back. Again, take a moment to breath slowly.
How you are actually sitting or positioned is not important, let your mind go. In your imagination you find yourself laying on your back, under you a heavy bed of moss, the most comfortable and dry moss bed you could imagine, it has a unique quality, it takes the gravity away enough that you are floating more than laying there, there’s no pressure against your body. Let your mind wander, let your eyes focus, let your position gain solidity as you look left and right, the mountain not far away with the natural spring, the trees that protect you from the breeze, the bed of moss that holds you above the ground so comfortably. The sky is just right, it glows for you as you smile towards a valley that’s green and open, a winding river in the distance, a cloud that’s exploring the lower lands. Let your mind wander through this place as I continue.
Take a slow breath. You are free here, your body is whole and moves painlessly as you stand, or sit, you’re free to fly if you want to. There’s a sensation building at the tip of your toes, a gentle pressure, I want you to let your mind wander as the sensation grows, it is not unpleasant, just the heavy and warm feeling that comes from deep relaxation, it’s not important, and it’s very beneficial, easy to ignore, but wonderful to pay attention to. Look around, feel where you are at, smile at your surroundings as the sensation moves up your toes to your ankles, steady and warm as it moves up to your calves. The sensation of weightlessness is comforting as your mind drifts, pain leaving your body, angst, anxiety, all your troubles for the day just drift away as the wondrous heavy and warm sensation moves steady up your calves.
Some features of the valley become clearer, the grass, the trees, the water, if you approach it you can feel it against your feet, or hands… it’s clear, it’s wonderful, if you taste it, it’s sweet and pure from the mountain. The heavy and warm sensation grows from your toes to your knees; any pain anywhere between your toes and knees is a distant memory as you take a slow and steady breath. The sensation continues up your body, as it touches your hips it begins also at your fingertips. Fingers relax as they take in each heavy and warm sensation and their movement slows, your breathing eases as the world around you slows down. All stress and anxiety is put out of the mind, not to enter this peaceful and calm valley. As you exhale the sensation grows up to your wrists and hips, the heavy warm peaceful sensation that destroys all pain, and relaxes every muscle that it touches.
The weightless sensation grows, I want you to imagine yourself laying down again, feeling comfortable and free, letting the relaxation wash over you, letting the peace enfold you, breathing very easily, feeling open and capable. As you envision laying down the heavy warm sensation moves up your hands so that it’s complete from fingertips to elbows, and from toe tips to your tummy, feeling heavy and warm as the blood flow increases, the pain is non existent there, the pain everywhere is a distant memory that like a balloon could pop at any moment and disappear entirely.
Imagine a good stretch, as you do the muscles saturate more fully with relaxation, having flexed the muscles driving the last ounce of anxiety and distress from them, all that remains is a calm glowing sensation that continues to move as the sensation combines from tip of the toes up your feet to your chest, and from the hands to the elbows, the shoulders, meeting with the heavy and warm and comfortable feeling in the chest. Your neck feels wonderful as it begins to share this heavy and warm sensation.
In the distance the smell of fresh air, the sound of the water, the birds, the wind that brushes the top of your skin all continues to drive you deeper into this state of relaxation, glowing from tip of the toe and fingertips up to your neck, here the sensation wraps around the back of your neck, very specifically you feel your back muscles relax, your spine loosen, your shoulders lower, your neck un-tense. Your head begins to glow with this sensation of being heavy and warm, let your mind wander over your body, every joint, every muscle, as it does you find relaxation and comfort, take a slow and steady breath, enjoy it. Relish in the moment, let your mind wander as you now with this new sensation can explore again, no limits. All anxiety and stress a distant part of you that stays comfortably away. Just breath.
Slowly you’ll wake up, steady as you rise from this moment of peace and meditation. Your eyes focusing easily, your body continuing in this state of restfulness, the pain a distant memory as you go about your activities. When it comes time to rest you’ll easily be able to return here. Next time you feel pain you can imagine the sensations as they glow over your body and feel again at peace. Rising from the trance you’ll feel renewed vigor and strength. Breathing deep you feel yourself anew, steady breaths as the valley fades and you greet the day.

Congrats on your first pod cast! I agree with, sharing your voice seeming so much more personal. I hate my voice and can’t stand the fact that it is the outgoing message on my answering machine. This is a great meditation post…the wording is perfect and very soothing. I am pretty susceptible to hypnosis/meditation in the right environment. Can’t wait to see/hear with what you come up with next…Thanks for sharing with us.

Thank you Harmony, I found a good website for storing podcasts, but it doesn’t let me put it on I-tunes. I’m going to work on upping the quality a little bit for next week. I’m glad you liked it. I took a lot of notes for things I can do differently next time. Thank you for your comment, it really does feel like putting myself out there.
