The snow danced before my eyes, a steady waltz with lackadaisical purpose, obviously in no rush to get to their destination despite the impressive size of the flakes. The large flakes made a noise as they fell around me, a quiet whisper to slow down, take it easy, and breath, I smiled at the thought, imagining the humor of telling anyone at all that the snow spoke to me. Looking in the distance I saw a pine covered mountain side, stretching into the white above, the view somewhat obscured by the white hue filling the landscape, but what a beautiful obstruction.
For a moment I worried about all the places I could go, all the things that could beg time from me, but at once the song from the snowflakes called me to relax, just observe and breathe. One thing to note about the air, it was crisp, despite the heat that surrounded me there was a feeling in the air of something that had the patience to float down miles to meet me, and it remembered where it passed along the way. I listened, the sound of running water was a strong base to the music of the falling snow, a nearby spring that flowed from the mountain fed the pool I sat in, solitary and at peace.
I was surrounded by warmth in this pool, the water that bubbled from the mountain was coddled by the spirit of the earth herself, and embodied life, the richness of being alive was fully manifested by the swirling pattern of the flow before the water would pour over the edge into the next pool down. Outside the sound of flowing water and falling snow the land was quiet, my hands splayed out, floating effortlessly on top the water, the snow melting immediately upon contact… such a stark contrast, the hot and the cold, the comfort, the peace, the solace as though the entire earth were a symphony just for me.
This is why I moved to the Northwest.
Now, my quest… I need pictures to represent such a thought. Please show me something.

I have been in search of the perfect picture, and have not been able to find one. I know what I see..but can’t quite find it on the internet. While looking though…I did see something, I really wish I hadn’t. I’ll keep my eye out though.

Have you seen some of the pictures on this blog?

What a wonderful image you paint with your words though. Sometimes, when one is so eloquent with their words no other visual is required. Water is my serenity, my savior, my baptism. I could almost feel the warmth on my flesh.

Nice! The picture in my mind works well, but difficult to upload. I love the mangled poems by the way - like reading Avril or Alanis lyrics. I’ll be back!

Welcome to my blog Kori and Renee, very glad to have you here.
Kori, I really like those pictures of snow in the Northwest, I fear it doesn’t stay long enough in the low-lands where I live, but it really calls me into the mountains. That’s a beautiful blog.
Claudia, I had seen a lot of those pictures across the internet, I can name one or two of the hot springs mentioned in that blog, it looks like a great resource to really get me out of the house eventually and into one of those pools.
