This is not a photo blog, that’s my disclaimer before I show these photo’s to you. My equipment is sadly lacking when it comes to taking decent pictures, and I’ve seen photo blogs, they know what they’re doing.
With that little disclaimer, I give you:
What I did today:
The highlighted route is the one I took, I didn’t do the math, but I’m guessing it was more than a mile.
One of my favorite things about this hike is you have a chance to go behind almost every waterfall, and while it’s not the wet season, there’s still water, and it’s falling.
Different waterfall, same experience.
While the river of life glides along smoothly, it remains the same river; only the landscape on either bank seems to change.
Max Muller
It was lovely, I do indeed wish you were there.

How beautiful! I wish I was there too. The sound of a waterfall is calming to me.

I regret that I didn’t take more time to just sit while out there. Most of my time between pictures was spent running, there’s a demon behind me and maybe I can outpace it. It felt great, but I wish I’d stopped more to enjoy it.

That looks truely awesome. We have some really fantastic waterfalls not far from where we live. The ocean, water in general makes me feel at peace, I can imagine me sat for hours in a place like this. Lovely photos by the way, I know you say its not a photo blog but the odd one every now and again can’t hurt! x

I love the one from behind the water where the elusive droplets fall from. Those are what usually get my attention. Like drips from melting icicles catching the light.

Marrisa, Thank you for your comments about the photo’s, I felt it a nice break to get out with nature and hope the pictures show that a little. I was a little sad that we’re at the dry part of summer here so it wasn’t as roaring as usual, but still nice. Next time I go it’ll have to be to just sit for a little while. Right now that sounds really nice.

Carolyn, the pictures do a wonderful job showing what it’s like behind these waterfalls, but it’s hard for the picture to pain the mist, the roar, the freedom from thought that comes from standing right there. I do love how the camera caught those elusive droplets, thank you for pointing that out.

LarryG, Welcome to my Lucid reality, I agree, silver falls is great, I like it when it’s a little more crazy, but it was still really nice. Thank you.

Claudia, Thank you, I have to say that the thing I love most about that hike is at almost any given moment you’re totally surrounded by lush green life, you breath out, and you can feel the plants breathing right back. It’s crisp, and beautiful.

Harmony, Thank you, I’ll work on getting better equipment. I’ve learned with this camera to take 100 photos if I want 10 I might be able to use later. Still, I should have taken 100 photos.

Jess, if only you could have been there, it would have been nice to have someone there who could point at the waterfalls and say “Slooooow down!”
August 13th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
Omama, Thank you, I’m glad I could share the pictures with you, it’s really wonderful to have waterfalls around. I spent some time in Arizona, and they only had waterfalls for one week a year where I was at. I didn’t like it.
August 13th, 2008 at 10:14 pm
Julie, I can’t wait to see what kind of waterfalls you have there, I imagine they’re really flooring. I’m glad you liked the photos, thank you.

Kathryn, thank you, I might have to do something like this again sometime.

Ya know I live probably an hour from there and I’ve never been. Shame on me. Beautiful pics.

Welcome to my lucid reality Maria, I hope you like it here. I have to agree, it’s a wonderful hike, and with the rediculous temperatures here lately it’s been calling to me to go back.
August 16th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Leann, I’m glad for your comment. I think it’s a beautiful hike, I highly recommend it. I’ve only lived in the area for a year, I still have so much to see, this is just the first place I’ve become somewhat familiar with. I’m open to suggestions.

My kids would love standing behind the waterfalls, peeking through them.
