On Mondays I like to take a moment to focus on the details of an object, it’s a relaxing exercise that should improve vocabulary and writing skills. We take an object, focus on the details and then describe it either poetically or otherwise.
We are the authors of our own stories; imagine you were to read a book where you are the main character, what qualities would be pronounced, which character flaws would make you loveable? If you create a character based on this principle that drives the story, the events around him/her or the qualities that make them shine. I think of someone like Jessica Fletcher from Murder She Wrote, was she destined to be in murder mysteries or could it be shook up a bit by throwing her strong traits into some good old fashioned jungle warfare. It’s a celebration of self to which we exercise our imaginations to today.
